The process of giving up tobacco use is known as smoking cessation, also referred to as quitting or halting. Nicotine, which is addictive and can lead to dependency, is present in tobacco smoke. As a result, withdrawal from nicotine frequently makes quitting difficult. Use of tobacco products can cause major health issues and tobacco dependence. The risk of contracting diseases associated to smoking is significantly decreased by quitting. There are effective therapies and tools for quitting, but tobacco/nicotine dependence is a problem that frequently necessitates repeated treatments.the main contributor to preventable disease and death is tobacco use, particularly cigarette smoking. One of the most crucial duties of clinicians is helping patients stop smoking, and the advantages of doing so have long been shown. The interprofessional team's role in helping patients stop using tobacco is discussed in this exercise, which also goes over the options available to help patients quit smoking.
